ok, so you took openwrt from trunk, cross-compiled compat-wireless for
2.6.30 (that was the lates kernel for your platform), substituted the
modules and it worked. What modules did you exactly recompiled? I'm just
doing insmod of cfg80211, mac80211 ieee80211 (and crypto modules) and
finaly ath5k.
I'm trying to make this work with 2.6.26 from kamikaze but some modules
hopelessy segfault.. [1]

ok, so I suppose that my segfaults are due to the fact that openwrt
kernel is patched enough from openwrt people so that compat-wireless-old
makes unusable modules?
