Interesting. Our company prototyped o11s on freerunner phones, but we
had to use different wireless cards. The AR6K family are fullmac¹
chips and so cannot be used with mac80211/o11s. In theory it would be
possible for Atheros to release a thin firmware that works with
mac80211. This has been done before on other fullmac chips by other
vendors². You'll need a very convincing case for them to support you
on that, but if they do we can write the driver for you.
