Hi throughput when using mesh

Hi,

I've been able to set up a mesh network between a beagleboard using a
zd1211rw usb adapter and a laptop with b43 (the normal one, not for
low-powered). I was using 2.6.32-rc7 and everything worked like a
charm but the average throughput in bytes was about 35KB/s and station
dump was showing a link of 1Mbps. Even though both devices were
actually very few meters away from each other.

Is this normal? Would this happen if both were using the same devices
or more devices? I have to say that I tried this at my office where
there are several wireless connections around (but they work pretty
decently). What would be the normal throughput for a case like this?
