Question about olpc xo-1 meshing

Before plunging into reading the code, could I ask someone to comment on
what (if any) compatibility exists in the current release with the mesh
network formed by One Laptop Per Child?  Thanks for any information you can
provide.

My hope is that your implementation will eventually allow a school server
without special wireless hardware to communicate on the mesh with a
classroom of xo-1s.  Right now, it will be necessary to run a jabber server
on such a school server and not make use of the mesh networking.  (Except
for installations having the special Active Antennas planned for deployment
in the developing world).
